Community Co-op Food & Service

Community Co-op Food & Service

Community Action Program in Benton County along with St. Patrick Catholic Church in Oxford, St. Charles Catholic Church in Otterbein and Oxford United Methodist Church are collaborating to open the Community Food and Service Co-op.  We invite other churches, and organizations in the community to join in our efforts to better serve those in need.  The Co-op is located at 107 E. Smith Street, Oxford, Indiana, just north of the Oxford Town Square.

The Community Food and Service Co-op will serve any eligible family that provides proof of receiving Medicaid, SNAP, WIC, or Energy Assistance, along with proof of residing in the Benton Community School Corporation or Benton County.

The Co-op will give families their own capacity to provide food and resource items for themselves and their families.  Membership in the Co-op will require a $10 monthly fee or 2 hours of work service within the Co-op or another local non-profit entity, such as Community Action Program or Head Start.

Benefits of this co-op model will give participants the opportunity to choose which products fit their family needs.  Along with becoming part of the leadership team members will be involved in making decisions about the operation of the Co-op.  Also, this will help develop a network of communication between service providers and participants of the Co-op.

Membership forms will be available beginning in October.  Forms can be picked up at the Community Action Program office at 105 S. Howard Street, Oxford or at the Co-op during hours of operation.

A Membership Drive and Open House is planned for:
