Joan E. Cline Memorial Scholarship

Community Action Program, Inc. of Western Indiana (CAPWI) is offering a scholarship to graduating seniors in the amount of $1,000 for each year they attend higher education up to a maximum of 4 years. This scholarship was established in 2005 in memory of Joan E. Cline who was the Executive Director of CAPWI from 1970 until her passing in December of 2004. Through this scholarship, CAPWI continues Joan’s work in helping outstanding young individuals attain their educational and career goals. 

The applicant must reside within our service area: Benton, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Vermillion, and Warren counties, be enrolled through an accredited institution for a minimum of 12 credit hours, or full-time equivalency, and maintain a 2.5 grade point average. Preference will be given to low-moderate income families. 

Completed applications must be received by CAPWI by the close of business on March 1. The recipient will be announced by April 1.
