On December 16th, 2019, the Community Action Program, Inc. of Western IN intends to apply to the Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority for a grant from the State Community Development Block Grant Program. This program is funded by Title 1 of the Housing & Community Development act of 1974, as amended. These funds are to be used for economic development, public facilities, and housing developments. The purpose of this application shall be for an Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) program in Vermillion County.

CAP will hold a public hearing on Friday, December 13th, 2019 at 1:00pm, at the Head Start Office located at 114 N Division St, Cayuga, IN 47928 to provide citizens an opportunity to express their view on community development and housing needs, past community development and housing activities, and the proposed OOR Program.

In 2019 CAP received a Community Development Block Grant for one Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program.

Records regarding the accounting of these beneficiaries and funds are available from Terri Poynter, 418 Washington Street – Covington, IN 47932. Interested citizens are invited to provide comments regarding these issues either at the public hearing or by prior written statement. A plan to minimize displacement and provide assistance to those displaced has been prepared and is available to the public. The application will be available for review and comment on December 16th, 2018.
