Weatherization

The purpose of this program is to provide construction measures on your home that will reduce your fuel consumption and thereby reduce the costs to heat and cool your home. The program is intended for people at 200% or less of poverty guidelines who reside in the following counties; Benton, Fountain, Montgomery, Parke, Vermillion, and Warren. Proof of income documentation is required.

Activities addressed:

A Community Action Program employee will come to your home to do an energy audit. The energy audit will determine which of the above measures will be completed on your home. The auditor will explain all of this to you. Client education is done during Energy Assistance and by Weatherization Auditors. Booklets on lead-base paint and mold are given out.

Homeowners and renters alike are eligible. Homeowners must meet income guidelines. A landlord agreement is reguired for renters before work can be done.

To apply, please call the Community Action Program office in your county. Click here for "Locations".
